Carolyn Marvin was arrested in Philadelphia after she stood in front of an Uber delivery robot and would not move. Police asked her to clear the robot’s path, and when she refused they placed her in cuffs and charged her with disorderly conduct. Marvin said she was protesting because the robots take jobs from human delivery workers. The incident was captured on video and has drawn media attention.

Delivery robots are now common in downtown Philadelphia, and this is not Marvin’s first encounter – earlier this year she kicked a robot over in Center City.

## The facts

- Arrested woman: Carolyn Marvin
- Charge: disorderly conduct

## Why it matters
