AWS now lets AI agents connect to cloud desktops without custom code, using OAuth 2.0 and a managed service.

Amazon WorkSpaces for AI agents now handles authentication and desktop connections through the managed Model Context Protocol (MCP) service. Instead of writing code to generate and rotate streaming URLs, agents can create sessions with existing AWS credentials via OAuth 2.0. The service also lets agents discover and launch applications from a catalog, and it reports session state for auditability. Availability expands to four new AWS Regions: São Paulo, Milan, Spain, and Malaysia.

Why it matters

Enterprises can deploy AI agents to cloud desktops faster and with fewer security concerns.
