Anthropic says a new LLC subsidiary will allocate about 20% of its equity to a fund aimed at helping workers affected by AI, while Elon Musk touts giving SpaceX shares to children.

Anthropic announced it will set up a wholly‑owned LLC subsidiary to run a fund that could receive up to 20% of the company's equity for the public good. The fund is meant to help workers whose jobs are threatened by fast‑moving AI systems. If the company’s valuation rises, the fund may get an extra two percent of shares for every 50 percent increase above a baseline, but the exact triggers are still undecided. Elon Musk replied on X, saying he would give a SpaceX share worth about $146 to each of the roughly 72 million U.S. children next year, a total of about $10.5 billion.

Why it matters

If the fund becomes operational, it could provide direct financial resources to workers displaced by AI, offering a concrete safety net.
