Applied Compute Inc. said it closed a $350 million funding round at a $3.25 billion valuation. Angel investor Elad Gil led the round with Nvidia, Shopify Ventures, HubSpot Ventures and others participating. The company, launched less than 18 months ago, now reports annualized recurring revenue above $100 million and counts Microsoft and DoorDash among its customers. It will use the new capital to expand its AI‑infrastructure platform, which offers asynchronous reinforcement‑learning training, self‑distillation, autoscaling inference and a model‑routing service called Shift‑1.
Why it matters
Enterprises looking to run their own large language models now have a more mature, funded platform that promises faster training and lower inference costs.
