AWS Clean Rooms adds Databricks as a direct data source

AWS Clean Rooms can now query Databricks tables via Delta Sharing, removing the need to copy data to S3.

AWS Clean Rooms now lets users add Databricks tables directly to a collaboration. The feature works through Delta Sharing, so members supply a workspace URL, schema and table name. Before, users had to export data to Amazon S3, creating extra pipelines and copies. With the new support, a retailer can run joint analysis with a media partner on customer data stored in Databricks without moving it.

Why it matters

It lets businesses collaborate on data faster and with less engineering effort, saving time and storage costs.
