AWS releases AgentCore CLI version 1.0

The terminal tool adds direct access to AgentCore resources, guided workflows and a command to migrate existing projects.

AWS made Amazon Bedrock AgentCore CLI version 1.0 generally available on October 28, 2026. The command-line tool lets developers create, deploy and manage AI agents and related resources from a terminal.

Developers can work with resources such as runtimes, memory and gateways without first adding them to a project, and can call existing resources by ID or ARN. AWS says existing projects can be moved to version 1 with the `agentcore migrate` command; the CLI is available through npm, with its source on GitHub.

Why it matters

Developers already using AgentCore projects have a migration command, though AWS does not specify how much work migration may require.
