Call Center firm rents Nvidia H200s to test DeepSeek cost claim

The Call Center Doctors tried four Nvidia H200 GPUs on Sep 27, finding DeepSeek still cost more than advertised.

The Call Center Doctors, a consultancy that runs call center AI agents, rented a four‑GPU Nvidia H200 box on Sep. 27 to run DeepSeek V4.1 Flash for its Claude Code agents. In its test the box processed about 213 tokens per second and cost $440.88 per day on demand. DeepSeek’s own API cost $184–$223 per day for the same workload. The firm switched back to Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5 because it was cheaper than the rented hardware.

Why it matters

Businesses see that renting high‑end GPUs may not make DeepSeek’s low‑cost claim practical for real‑world coding tasks.
