AWS GovCloud (US) now hosts Claude Haiku 5.5, the fastest model in Anthropic's Haiku 5.5 family. The company says it costs roughly 75% less than Haiku 4.5 for most jobs. It is aimed at real‑time uses like voice agents, live support, and in‑app assistants, as well as bulk tasks such as classification and summarization. The model also adds effort controls, letting teams balance cost against intelligence. Users get the model through Amazon Bedrock, which keeps data within AWS regions and adds Guardrails and Knowledge Base features.

Why it matters

The lower price makes it affordable for government agencies to run large numbers of real‑time AI assistants.
