Cloudflare updated its Containers service to be more programmable for AI agents. Code can now pick the sandbox image and size at runtime, and containers start in about 648 ms—over six times faster than before. The change also adds public‑beta filesystem snapshots and a pre‑built Debian‑Trixie image for quick Linux workspaces.
The speedup lets AI agents begin tasks almost instantly, reducing user wait time and simplifying sandbox management.
