Exa has added 3.2 million podcast episodes, with full transcripts, to its search index. The company says the data is available to all users through its search API at no additional charge, and that new episodes appear soon after airing.
In Exa’s tests across seven APIs, its search returned the newest episode in the top five results 98.4% of the time. It also answered 85% of 667 questions about specific episodes correctly; these are company-reported results.
Why it matters
Researchers and assistants using Exa can search what podcast guests said, not just episode titles and descriptions; how well this works outside Exa’s tests is not established.
