GitHub released an Oct. 12 improvement to its Copilot service. The change adds client‑side telemetry user attribution, so organizations can identify which users generate usage data. It also makes telemetry capture configurable, letting admins enable or disable data collection for client apps, Copilot, and enterprise management tools.

Why it matters

Admins can better manage privacy and compliance by controlling what usage data is sent from Copilot.
