Google tests direct Flipkart purchases in Gemini AI mode in India
A small group of Indian users can now tap a Buy button in Google’s Gemini and AI Mode to checkout on Flipkart without leaving the AI chat.
Google is trialing a purchase button for Flipkart items shown in its Gemini and AI Mode chat. When users tap Buy, they are taken straight to a Flipkart checkout screen. The test runs for a limited set of products like smartphones and accessories and only for a subset of users. Google says it will widen the rollout in October, before the country’s festive shopping rush.

It shows AI moving from product suggestions to handling actual purchases, tightening Google’s role in e‑commerce.
