Inductive Ranks First in OpenADMET CYP Challenge

Inductive says its Beacon models placed first among more than 270 teams predicting drug-metabolizing enzyme inhibition.

Inductive says its Beacon models placed first in the OpenADMET CYP Direct Inhibition Blind Challenge, ahead of more than 270 eligible participants. NVIDIA ranked third and Recursion fourth.

Teams predicted inhibition potency for 750 compounds across four drug-metabolizing enzymes: CYP3A4, CYP2D6, CYP2C9 and CYP1A2. The measurements were withheld until the challenge closed, but the announcement gives no scores or independent assessment of the ranking.

Inductive says this is its fourth consecutive first-place finish in OpenADMET-related challenges. The company says its models use data from a pre-competitive consortium and can be tailored to a partner’s chemical space.

Why it matters

Drug-discovery teams can use CYP inhibition predictions to flag compounds that may cause drug interactions, but the announcement does not show how much Inductive’s results improve decisions in real drug programs.
