The ggml-org team released llama.cpp b12102 with a change to how it checks the memory range of strided tensor views. The previous check could reject views whose rows overlap even when they stayed within the source, while allowing some wider-stride views that reached beyond it.
The updated view functions pass their strides into the tensor constructor, which checks the bytes the view actually reaches. The release also asserts that a strided view starts from contiguous elements along its first dimension. Build packages are listed for macOS, Linux, Android and Windows, among other platforms.
Why it matters
For developers using llama.cpp, the revised check can prevent out-of-range tensor views from passing validation; the release notes do not quantify the effect on model performance.
