Manus rolled out version 2.0 of its AI‑agent platform on Sep 28 2026. The update brings a new agent harness called Cascade, a cloud‑based computer you can rent, and a personal‑agent app named Cue. It also renames the desktop client to Manus Studio and adds two specialized workspaces – Video Editor and Game Dev.
What’s new in the platform?
Cascade is the core of Manus 2.0. The company says a test configuration used 23.2 % fewer tokens, finished tasks 28.2 % faster, and cost 32 % less than the previous system. Cloud Computer lets you keep a server running 24 / 7 for things like multiplayer game worlds or always‑on automations. Automations now trigger on external events such as a new email, a Slack message, or a calendar change, instead of only at a scheduled time.
Manus Studio is a single workspace that can hold documents, code, websites, videos and games. The new Video Editor offers a timeline with separate clips, audio, text and motion‑graphics layers, so you can tweak a single element without re‑generating the whole video. Game Dev combines image, video and coding models to build playable, multiplayer‑capable games that run on a Cloud Computer.
Cue – personal agents with their own contact info
Cue is a free‑early‑access app that creates a personal AI agent for each user. Each agent receives its own email address, phone number, wallet and a virtual computer. The agent can send messages, make purchases within a budget you set, and even take calls, summarising them back to you.
