Modal tests NVIDIA Vera CPU, sees double sandbox throughput

Modal installed NVIDIA’s new Arm‑compatible Vera CPU and benchmarked it, finding about twice the task throughput under load.

Last week NVIDIA hand‑delivered Modal’s first Vera CPU server to the company’s San Francisco office. Modal ran its Agentless Agent Bench, a set of 50 terminal‑style tasks, on the new server and measured task completions per minute. Compared with AMD Zen 5, Intel GNR and AWS Graviton CPUs, the Vera system delivered roughly twice as many completions when many containers ran together.

Why it matters

Modal users could see faster, cheaper sandbox runs, especially when workloads spike.
