Nous Research has published a standalone Hermes Agent plugin for Spotify. It provides seven tools—playback, devices, queue, search, playlists, albums and library—via the Spotify Web API. Existing Hermes users keep their login; the only change is the command, now `hermes spotify login` instead of `hermes auth spotify`. The plugin is installed from the Hermes catalog with `hermes plugins install spotify` and then enabled.
To use playback control you need a Spotify Premium account and an active Connect device. Free accounts can still search, view playlists and read the queue. The plugin requires only the httpx Python library, which Hermes already includes.
Why it matters
Hermes users can now control Spotify and manage their music library from the same chat‑based interface.
