Researchers have released OmniGeo, a single AI solver that handles plane, analytic, and solid geometry problems. It combines neural guidance with symbolic reasoning in a shared state, allowing the system to propose constructions and apply exact rules at each step. The paper describing OmniGeo was posted to arXiv on 6 October 2026.
How well does OmniGeo perform?
When paired with Claude Sonnet 4.6, OmniGeo achieved 94.2% accuracy on the FormalGeo7K benchmark, 88.5% on Conic10K, and 89.8% on SolidFGeo, giving a 90.8% macro average. The authors also report that OmniGeo solved 21 out of 30 problems from the IMO‑AG‑30 set, a collection of International Math Olympiad‑style geometry questions.
Why it matters
For students and teachers, a single tool that can handle many types of geometry offers a way to check solutions and explore constructions without switching programs. The high benchmark scores suggest the system can handle typical textbook problems reliably, though its performance on brand‑new or poorly defined tasks remains untested.
