Snowflake’s new AIM desktop app lets engineers move databases to Snowflake with guided, AI‑assisted steps.

NoteBy Published by Oossa: 1 min read

Snowflake announced that its AIM application is now in public preview. The standalone desktop tool builds on the existing CoCo migration engine but adds a guided workflow, automatic dependency installation and AI‑driven remediation. Users can connect to source databases like SQL Server or Redshift, convert code, test fixes and collaborate in real time without writing scripts. The app tracks project state so teams can pause and resume weeks later.

Why it matters

Migration engineers can finish complex database moves faster and with less manual scripting, freeing specialized staff for other work.
