SWI Compute has emerged from stealth to build and operate NVIDIA-based AI data centers, beginning in Europe. The company says it has ordered about $1 billion in NVIDIA systems and signed contracts with its first customers, including a US-based AI inference platform.
Its first UK site is planned to start with 30 megawatts of power and close to 7,000 Rubin GPUs, with service expected by the end of 2027. That is the first phase of a campus planned to reach 530 megawatts; SWI Compute says it aims for 2.3 gigawatts of AI factory capacity by 2029.
Why it matters
For European AI companies seeking computing capacity, SWI Compute says it will offer access to NVIDIA systems under European jurisdiction; the planned UK site is not expected to come online until the end of 2027.
