TypeSafe's Jev sparks wave of similar decision‑model APIs

After TypeSafe launched its Jev API, Microsoft, OpenAI and others have released comparable lightweight decision‑model services.

TypeSafe introduced Jev, an API that answers yes/no or multiple‑choice questions with probabilities, letting developers write simple if‑statements. Since its debut, Microsoft, OpenAI and several other firms have put out similar decision‑model APIs. ConvAI Innovations’ researcher Nandakishor Mukkunnoth claims he outlined the core ideas for Jev a year earlier, raising a dispute over who copied whom. The concept builds on existing decision‑model ideas but applies them as a ready‑to‑use service.

Why it matters

Developers can now choose from multiple low‑cost decision‑model services for tasks like transaction analysis, expanding options beyond a single vendor.
