Vercel releases durable-harness to keep coding agents running after crashes

Vercel open‑sources durable-harness, a package that logs model and tool calls so sessions with Pi, OpenCode, Claude Code and Codex can resume after crashes or redeploys.

Vercel has made an open‑source package called durable-harness. The tool records every call to an AI model or external tool. If a session using Pi, OpenCode, Claude Code or Codex crashes, times out, or is redeployed on Vercel, Postgres, or a local laptop, the session can pick up where it left off. The package is available now on Vercel’s public repository.

Why it matters

Developers can avoid losing work when their AI‑assisted coding environment crashes, saving time and reducing frustration.
