xAI has retired grok-imagine-image-quality and grok-imagine-image-pro. Requests sent to either model are now served by grok-imagine-image-2.0-low, which xAI describes as grok-imagine-image-2.0 with quality set to low.
Existing requests do not need to change. xAI says the replacement costs less per image; response cost fields reflect the lower price, while gRPC responses identify the model as grok-imagine-image-2.0-low.
Why it matters
Developers using either retired model can keep their request format, but should account for the replacement model name in gRPC responses.
