Microsoft announced a new Xbox Labs group on Oct 13 2026. The team will consist of game makers, engineers and scientists who will experiment with AI models that help modders decompile and rebuild games for devices they weren’t designed for. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma says the lab will build openly, learn from the community and track success by how many people play and create. The group plans to share any tools it creates with developers across the industry.
