42AI emerges with $62.5M and a behavioral prediction model

The Israeli startup says brokerages use its model to forecast customer trading behavior, but its accuracy claims are company-reported and its use raises questions about customer advantage.

Israeli startup 42AI has come out of stealth with $62.5 million in seed funding and a system it says predicts how people may behave in new situations. TechCrunch reports that 10 large brokerages are working with the company on liquidity, margin requirements and hedging exposure.

42AI says its model predicts trading direction and volume with an F1 score of 0.8 to 0.85. The company also cites 98% accuracy, but says that figure measures whether trading flows fall within a predicted range, not whether it correctly forecasts each trade. The system uses linked customer activity, and its founders acknowledge that missing context can reduce accuracy.

Why it matters

Brokerages could use the forecasts to manage hedging and liquidity, but it remains unclear what prevents them from using customer profiles to gain an advantage over the people being analyzed.
