Event date:

Anthropic announced on October 14, 2026 that its API now offers OpenTelemetry export in beta. This lets developers trace Messages API calls and Claude Managed Agents sessions in their own observability tools. The Claude SDK can emit trace spans for Python, TypeScript, C#, Go, Java, PHP, and Ruby. To receive spans, users add an OpenTelemetry destination in the Claude Console.

Why it matters

Developers can now monitor and debug Claude‑based applications with standard tracing tools, improving reliability and performance insight.
