Amazon announced that Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5 and Claude Sonnet 5.5 are now available on Amazon Bedrock in the AWS GovCloud (US) regions. The models carry FedRAMP Class D certification and DoD Impact Level 4/5 authorizations, meeting ITAR and other strict compliance needs. Developers can use Claude Code, Anthropic’s coding assistant, directly from terminals or IDEs like VS Code while keeping data protected and not stored for training.
