AWS announced that the AWS MCP Server is now available in six additional regions: Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London) and US West (Oregon). The service lets AI coding agents talk to AWS APIs through a single endpoint, so developers don’t need custom integrations. Running the server closer to users reduces response time and keeps data inside the chosen region, helping meet local data‑residency rules.

Why it matters

Developers in those regions can provision and debug AWS resources faster while keeping data local, which is useful for teams with strict latency or residency needs.
