AWS announced Quick Essentials for Amazon Quick, bringing AI-powered chat, Research, Flows and Apps to enterprises. In AWS Regions where Amazon Quick is available, QuickSight Reader users are upgraded at no additional per-user cost; the rollout is phased.
Readers can ask dashboard questions in plain language, create documents or spreadsheets from answers, and use Research to build cited reports from data, files and the web. Existing dashboards and saved items stay in place, and AWS says row- and column-level security applies to every answer.
Why it matters
For organizations already using QuickSight Reader, the upgrade adds AI features without an added per-user charge, though availability depends on the AWS Region and rollout schedule.
