AWS launches Anchor Browser with built‑in x402 payments

The new cloud browser lets AI agents automatically pay for pay‑per‑use web resources via Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.

AWS announced that Anchor Browser now includes Agentic Payments, a managed service that handles HTTP 402 payment requests for AI agents. The feature works with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and uses the open x402 protocol to sign and settle payments through Coinbase or Stripe without exposing keys to the agent. Developers only need to enable a session flag (session.x402 = true) and set a budget in AgentCore. The browser retries the request after payment, letting the agent continue its task without human help.

Why it matters

Developers can build fully autonomous agents that fetch premium data or paid APIs without manual payment steps.
