Bain & Company’s 2026 Global Technology Report says the AI sector must generate $6 trillion a year by 2031 to keep funding the hardware and data‑center capacity it needs. The estimate assumes AI capex will stay at about 25 % of total revenue. Bain also projects AI infrastructure spending could hit $1.5 trillion annually by 2031, up from $780 billion in 2026.
