Bloomberg has introduced BQuant Assistant, a conversational AI coding tool built into its BQuant financial-analysis platform. It can generate Python and Bloomberg Query Language code, help debug notebooks and create visualizations using Bloomberg data.
Users can ask it to insert and run code in an active project, but it must request approval before reading or writing to a notebook. Bloomberg says BQuant Assistant will be generally available in BQuant Enterprise and offered as a limited beta in BQuant Desktop at the end of October 2026. Access is for financial professionals with a Bloomberg Terminal subscription.
Why it matters
For Bloomberg Terminal users who build financial analyses in Python, the assistant could reduce coding and data-query work inside BQuant; how much time it saves in practice is not stated.
