Healthleap announced a $38 million seed and Series A round on Oct 7 2026. The money, split between an $8 million seed co‑led by Sequoia Capital and First Round Capital and a $30 million Series A led by Hummingbird Ventures, will fund more engineering and sales. The startup’s AI reads electronic health records – both structured data and doctors’ notes – to generate nightly risk scores for every adult inpatient. It is already used in more than 50 hospitals, including Penn Medicine and Cedars‑Sinai, to spot conditions like malnutrition and delirium.

Why it matters

Hospitals can spot hidden illnesses earlier, potentially reducing stays and improving patient outcomes.
