Meta told Semafor that it is releasing employees it hired from Virtue AI in June after only four months. The company said the arrangement didn’t work out because of clashing work styles. Meta’s Superintelligence Labs will keep focusing on AI safety and alignment. Virtue AI, founded by Bo Li, Dawn Song and Sanmi Koyejo, has also worked with Anthropic, OpenAI and the U.S. Commerce Department.

Why it matters

The cut‑back shows Meta is still refining how it integrates external AI‑safety talent while under regulatory pressure.
