Mizuho Securities announced a partnership with HPE to install a new data centre that uses direct liquid cooling. The centre will run HPE’s Cray XD2002 supercomputer. Installation of the cooling system, networking and validation work is slated to begin in the fall of 2026. The upgrade is meant to help Mizuho run more detailed financial simulations and prepare its AI workloads.

Why it matters

The faster, cooler hardware could let Mizuho run larger risk‑analysis models for its clients.
