Omdia released a report called *Sovereign AI: A Playbook for Success*. It examined the terms of service, service‑level agreements, data‑processing agreements, privacy practices and certifications of 35 AI providers that market themselves as sovereign. The study covered firms in 20 countries, including frontier labs, hyperscalers, data‑center operators, neoclouds and telecoms. Omdia says most of these providers cannot substantiate their sovereign‑AI claims, which could leave enterprises exposed to compliance and security gaps.

Why it matters

Enterprises that choose a sovereign‑AI service may discover it does not actually meet promised data‑privacy or residency standards.
