Open‑source REA project links AI agents to reverse‑engineering tools

The Reverse Engineer Anything (REA) framework lets AI coding agents work with Ghidra, Hopper and IDA to analyze binaries.

Reverse Engineer Anything (REA) is an open‑source project that connects AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex to popular reverse‑engineering tools like Ghidra, Hopper and IDA. The framework runs locally and uses MCP servers to let agents query disassemblers, trace function calls and test hypotheses on compiled binaries. REA can also statically analyze JavaScript/Electron apps and .NET assemblies, but it does not claim to recreate original source code.

Why it matters

Developers can use AI to speed up binary analysis, making reverse engineering faster and more accessible for research and security work.
