AWS Transform for full‑stack Windows modernization now supports cross‑region deployment of converted Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL databases. The feature is available in seven additional AWS Regions, letting customers choose a different region for the new Aurora cluster after modernizing a SQL Server workload. Users can upload SQL Server DDL files, pick a target region, and the service will convert the schema and adjust .NET app connection strings. The added regions are US East (N. Virginia), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Sydney) and Canada (Montreal).

Why it matters

Enterprises can place modernized databases closer to users or compliance zones, reducing latency and easing data‑residency rules.
