Flox Intelligence, a spin‑out from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, sells battery‑operated edge devices that detect motion, identify nearby wildlife with on‑device AI, and emit a sound tuned to the species to scare it away. The company already has roughly 150 units running on airports, rail lines and other infrastructure in North America, Europe and Australia. Flox charges an upfront hardware fee and then an annual software subscription, and it has opened a $10 million Series A round to grow the deployment base.
Why it matters
Rail and airport operators could reduce costly wildlife strikes without building new fences or using lethal methods.
