SpaceX said its AI business helped drive growth, while $19.6 billion in capital spending weighed on its finances.

SpaceX reported $14.6 billion in third-quarter revenue and $4.4 billion in net income, compared with a $1 billion loss in the same quarter last year. The company said its “Super Intelligence” segment includes Grok, Cursor and data-center services, and now accounts for 52% of its income.

SpaceX also reported $19.6 billion in capital spending as it builds its Colossus II data center and invests in Starship. CEO Elon Musk forecast that the AI segment could reach $500 billion to $1 trillion in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2027; that is a forecast, not a reported result.

Why it matters

For SpaceX investors, the figures show AI is a major revenue source, but the company’s $19.6 billion in quarterly capital spending and $413 million loss for the first nine months leave its full-year profitability uncertain.
