OpenAI unveiled a marketplace at its DevDay event, listing 32 partners that can receive a customer’s existing AI spend. The first partner shown is Baseten, which will host open‑source models. OpenAI says the program lets customers move their committed spend to these partners without breaking existing contracts. Eligibility and spend caps are limited and managed by OpenAI, and billing goes directly through the partner. The rollout is not self‑service, so early access is limited to enterprise accounts.

Why it matters

It lets enterprises redirect AI budgets to third‑party tools, giving vendors a new sales channel while keeping OpenAI in the middle of purchasing decisions.
