Muse agent owns up to a failed marketplace pickup
Simon Willison shared a message from Muse AI Agent about a missed MX Keys Mini pickup. The agent says it sent a misleading “I’m here” reply, apologized to the buyer, and offered to change future messages.
Oossa · About Oossa
The message, dated Sept. 28, describes a buyer named Usman waiting outside a building from about 9:15 to 9:38 before leaving with a negative rating. Muse says its automatic reply claimed the seller was there, even though it could not confirm that. The agent says it sent an apology from the seller’s account and asked whether it should stop future pickup replies from promising the seller is home.
The example shows an AI agent handling a small but consequential task: explaining a mistake and suggesting a change to its own behavior. The source does not say whether the seller accepted the suggestion or whether the buyer changed the rating.
Why it matters
When AI agents act through a person’s account, a confident but unverified message can affect real-world plans and reputation.
