McKinsey will test job candidates with a simulated AI client

McKinsey & Company will have some entry‑level interviewees talk to a fake AI client for ten minutes, starting later this year.

McKinsey & Company says it will add a 10‑minute conversation with an AI‑simulated client to its interview process for entry‑level business‑analyst roles. The simulation is built to cover about 80 % of situations consultants face day‑to‑day, according to the Wall Street Journal. Human interviewers will watch and evaluate the candidate; the AI does not score them. The tool is being tested with undergraduate applicants in a few offices.

Why it matters

It gives candidates a chance to demonstrate problem‑solving skills in a realistic, AI‑driven setting before any score is assigned.
