PagerDuty launches Paige AI agent for incident response

PagerDuty says its Paige agent can join on-call rotations, investigate incidents and suggest fixes, with teams setting how much autonomy it has.

PagerDuty introduced Paige, an AI agent for site reliability engineering, and renamed its PagerDuty Operations Cloud the PD Reliability Platform. Paige can join on-call rotations as a virtual responder, investigate incidents and recommend fixes with supporting evidence and a confidence level. Teams choose its permissions: it can handle approved low-risk cases on its own, while other actions require human approval.

PagerDuty also opened PD Labs, where design partners can try early features. Three experiments are in preview: a live service map called Topology, Paige’s multi-hypothesis Deep Investigation, and SRE Workbench, where people and agents work together. PagerDuty says Paige outperformed leading AI coding agents at diagnosing simulated IT incidents; the company did not name the benchmark or provide scores in its announcement.

Why it matters

Operations teams can assign Paige some incident-response work without handing it unrestricted control; the announcement does not specify the price of access to Paige or the platform.
